Donohoe Construction’s Specialty Division broke ground on the Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School (GVPS) Berchmans Hall Project on Sunday, April 29.
Designed by CG+S Architects, the two new additions will connect and expand two separate buildings into one. The new, two-story addition will contain eight classrooms including science labs, a maker space, and student gathering areas to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and the arts.
The project will also include a connector to link two existing buildings along with the renovation of classrooms in the 65-year old St. Joseph's Academic building. These renovations will accommodate a wide exterior stair and a handicap accessible ramp. The design also includes extensive outdoor patio space around the building.
The project is targeting for substantial completion in September 2019.
