The Grand Opening of the mixed-use waterfront community in Southwest, D.C. on Thursday, October 12th included the debut of a 300,000 square foot, dual-branded hotel built by Donohoe Construction Company.
The Wharf-Hyatt House & Canopy by Hilton hotel project features two different brands to cater to business travelers as well as tourists. The Hyatt House is a 145,000-square-foot extended-stay hotel holding 238 keys. On the other side is Canopy by Hilton, a 120,000-square-foot luxury hotel with 175 keys. It is the first Canopy by Hilton to open in the United States.
Developed by Hoffman-Madison Waterfront and designed by SmithGroup JJR, the combined hotels include a cafe/bar, a fitness center, meeting room space, a courtyard with outdoor terraces, an outdoor pool, and a rooftop bar with Washington Channel views. The hotel site includes more than 30,000 square feet of street-level retail and two levels of below grade parking.
