Oath Pizza and Peet’s Coffee to Open at Insignia on M
Both Retail establishments have signed leases in the Capitol Riverfront Neighborhood
Donohoe and MetLife are pleased to announce two new retail leases within their recently opened luxury apartments, Insignia on M. Boston-based Oath Pizza and national chain Peet’s Coffee have each leased approximately 2,000 square feet of conveniently-located street level retail at Insignia on M in the center of DC’s Capitol Riverfront, one of the District’s fastest developing neighborhoods. Both plan to be open for business by spring 2018.
Oath Pizza is a national pizza chain with roots in Nantucket, and now expanding to Boston, New York City and the Washington, DC area. Oath is the first certified humane pizza chain that tops its pizzas with seasonal, sustainable and ethically-sourced ingredients. Oath’s Capitol Riverfront location at 110 M Street SE will be the chain’s second in the DC area; they have opened a store in the Mosaic District in Fairfax, Virginia earlier this year.
Peet’s Coffee first opened in Berkeley, California in 1966, offering small batch hand-roasted coffee. The specialty coffee and tea retail chain has since expanded to include locations locally as well as in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Oregon and Washington. This store at 1105 New Jersey Avenue SE will be its 23rd location currently serving quality coffee in the DC metro area.
The two retailers have claimed prime storefronts atop the Ballpark-Navy Yard Metro station, steps from numerous neighborhood amenities, including Nationals Park. Oath, at the corner of M Street and the alley, and Peet’s, facing New Jersey Avenue, join Bethesda Bagels, which opened in the building earlier this year. Retail spaces at the corner of New Jersey Avenue and L Street (1,500sf) and New Jersey Avenue and M Street (3,000sf) which open to an elaborately landscaped 60-foot plaza featuring café seating and gardens are currently available for lease.
