Jack Barry of Donohoe Construction received the honor of “Superintendent of the Year” at the American Subcontractors Association of Metro Washington's 53rd Subby Awards Gala on Saturday, February 25th.

Barry was recognized by ASAMW as the superintendent who deserves acclamation for effective planning and coordination of all trades; who is cooperative and non-confrontational; and who involves subcontractors in project decision-making.

“As superintendent, Jack is the on-site team member responsible for delivering multi-million dollar projects on time and within budget. He has the ability to coordinate, supervise, question and problem solve with subs, architects and engineers,” says Bob Donohoe, CEO of The Donohoe Companies. “Jack is demanding and fair-minded and he knows how to “rally the troops” to move the project forward. With Jack you can be confident the building will be done right every time. Jack Barry delivers.”

Barry is currently overseeing the 13-story multifamily project, Insignia on M, located atop the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro Station in Washington, DC. The project received the Certificate of Occupancy last week.

The American Subcontractors Association of Metro Washington hosts nearly 50 general contractors at the gala each year with winners in 15 categories.
